Boone and Crockett Field Judging Tips
Will any other hunters be on the property?
No. Unlike other outfitters, we do not place you on a property with other hunters. When you book a hunt with us, the property is yours to hunt and move about as you please.
Are there treestands on the property, or do I need to bring my own?
The hunt is self guided so each hunter chooses their own group, has a property for the entire week, and are free to hang their own stands, and hunt how you would like to hunt. We provide suggested hunting locations, maps, and can arrange a scouting trip earlier in the year, if requested. Climbing, hang-on, and ladder sticks are okay. We ask that you do not use screw in steps or spikes in the trees.
Will meals be provided or are we cooking for ourselves?
Hunters provide their own food/meals; cabins are outfitted with furnished kitchens. We can also provide a list of recommended restaurants in the area.
Are crossbows permitted?
Crossbows are permitted in Ohio.
Which weeks are still available?
We try to keep the website as up to date as possible. If the week you want is shown beside the property hunt you desire, it’s available! Just click BOOK IT and place your deposit. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to CONTACT US. 740-438-6537 Ask for Ryan
Can I bring my spouse or another non-hunter?
In general, Yes! Please check with us; based on how many hunters are in your group and we should be able to accommodate a guest at no additional charge, or a small lodging fee, depending on which cabin you are staying in.
Can I include a child on the hunt if they are a minor (under 18)?
Of course! We strongly support youth in our sport. Please fill out the minor indemnification release form when booking.
What kind of weather should I expect?
During the November Rut, average seasonal lows are low 30’s overnight and low to mid 50’s during the day. This is Ohio, you could see 20 degree swings on the top and bottom. Bring gear for cold mornings and mild afternoons.
What County are you in?
We run our hunts in Ohio’s southeast/southcentral Big Woods Buck Country. There are tens of thousands of acres of mature hardwoods in and around our hunting areas with a light mix of agriculture where bucks grow old. We have hunts in Fairfield, Hocking, Jackson, Vinton, and Noble Counties.
Are the property boundaries marked?
Generally, yes. We provide aerial mapping indicating property boundaries with contour lines. The map, along with visible markers in the field will assist you with navigation. We encourage all new hunters to schedule a weekend with us in the early spring or summer to walk and scout the property and better familiarize yourself with the hot spots.
